This white polished La Petite Kimball grand piano is a delightful and unusually compact instrument, measuring less than 5' in length and offering a smaller footprint than most traditional grand pianos. With dimensions of just 4.5 feet wide and 3 feet tall with the lid down, it is especially well suited for homes where space is limited but the elegance of a grand piano is still desired.
Built in 1988 and treasured in one home throughout its life, this piano has been well maintained and has passed our strict inspection standards. It is in good condition and will be a lovely choice for a beginner student or for anyone seeking a graceful, space-conscious instrument. Even with its petite size, its sound has not been compromised. It has a lovely tone and a musical character that makes it a joy to play and hear.
The piano is in our showroom, and is ready for you to come enjoy! The piano has been cleaned, the action has been regulated, and the piano will receive a final tuning once sold so it arrives ready to enjoy. Kimball Piano History
The Kimball Company started making reed organs in 1877 in Chicago, Illinois, and by 1887 expanded to include pianos in the massive factory. In 1961 the company was moved to Indiana until 1996, when the last Kimball grand rolled off the production line. In fact, from 1922 until the mid 1960's the Kimball company grew to be the top ranked piano maker in the world!
The original Kimball company still exists today, however no longer makes pianos, but rather specializes in furniture. The Kimball pianos of today are now solely made in Asia under new ownership.
