If you're looking for the voice of a concert grand in a smaller body then look no further than Baldwin's Concert Vertical Model B252. The B252 is the newest version of Baldwin's largest upright piano, and provides as much total soundboard area as a 6'3" grand. This piano features a special design that supports longer bass strings which produce a rich and resonant tone normally associated with a grand piano.

The B252 is housed in a beautiful, classically styled cabinet that fits beautifully in any décor—from traditional to contemporary to school to rehearsal hall. The soundboard and ribs are constructed of spruce, while the precision-notched bridge is made from hard rock maple. The carefully designed geometry of its Full Blow Direct Action delivers an exceptionally responsive touch. The European style keys are made from spruce with hardwood reinforcements, and all corners of the keys are rounded and polished for an elegant, sophisticated look. The keys are also covered with a special coating that resists stains and chipping.

Baldwin strings, made by Mapes or Roslau, provide consistently rich and detailed fundamental tones and harmonic overtones.
Pinblock
The B252 pinblock consists of 19 plies of hard maple, one of the most durable hardwoods. By alternating the grain direction of each ply, tuning pins are snugly held. The plies are joined with a waterproof adhesive, so the integrity of the Baldwin pinblock is not adversely affected by humidity.
