This model A Mason & Hamlin 5'8" grand piano is Mahogany satin and comes with a matching bench. Built in 1910 it was partially rebuilt in 2002 by RPI. This included refinishing, new soundboard, strings, pins, bridge caps and pinblock. Ivories are original, as are action parts, although it was reconditioned at the time.

This Mason has great potential to be a fantastic instrument with a few upgrades. The finish is faded on the back side, and will be tinted. The action will be upgraded with new parts to replace the original from 1910. This will include hammers, whippens and all new felts. Once these upgrades are finished, a 5-year warranty will be given for work done.

The Mason & Hamlin company was founded in 1854 by Henry Mason and Emmons Hamlin. The company began manufacturing reed organs, starting piano production in 1881 in Boston, Massachusetts. Even with changing hands over the years, the Mason & Hamlin piano company has maintained high quality instruments, and still is made in the USA.
