Kohler & Campbell Piano History

Established in 1897 in New York City by Charles Kohler and John Campbell, these pianos were noted for their player piano mechanisms that were a in big demand in the early 1900s. The company moved to North Carolina in 1954, and continued to be made with the Kohler name, among others, until 1984 when it was sold to Sherman Clay, a retail store who contracted with Samick USA to build the Kohler & Campbell piano once again. This continued from about 1991-1996.

After 1996 Samick Indonesia bought the name and began producing the piano, and continues to do so today.
