Grinnell Bros. Piano History

The Grinnell Piano Company was originally an organs maker, but began making pianos in 1902. Their head quarters were in Detroit, MI, additional factories in Holly, MI and Canada. They also had large retail stores, where their sold many instruments in Michigan, Ohio and Canada.

They made a Grinnell Bros. and Leonard piano line, and reed organs and continued to manufacturing pianos after the business was sold in 1955. It went through various different owners, until it was finally discontinued in 1969, though they still operated their retail stores until 1981.

Samick briefly made pianos with the Grinnell name in 1995.
